Website Development
My name is Rafal Radulski. I’m a website and web-application developer.
I work as an independent contractor / consultant. I work mostly from my home office in Chicago. Working outside of corporate environment allows me to avoid a lot of overhead. Therefore, I can offer my services at a lower price while maintaining high standards. At the same time, I try to meet with my clients face-to-face when possible.
I specialize in developing websites in PHP and Python. I frequent use WordPress, Symfony and Django frameworks. I am open minded about the software I use. For example, when a part of a website changes frequently, it needs to be developed in a way that is simple, flexible and resistant to errors. If a website has two distinct parts, like a blog section and an online store, I usually develop each part separately. Also, I do not shy from using a new editor, script, methodology, service or API. If it is high-quality and it is a good fit for the project, I use it.
Before I begin any work on a new project, I talk with my client about their vision. I try to understand context of the project, judge their expectations, define the requirements. Once I have basic understanding of the work, we need to decide if I am the right person for the job. I do not take on every project, but only those that I feel confident about. I want to solve problems for my clients, I do not want to create them.
Most projects require some unusual functionality. Some need special video-processing, animation, graphs, widgets or API integration. If you need “one of a kind” feature, feel free to reach out to me. When it comes to front-end implementation, I use well known web standards and technologies on all websites: HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript. When you combine these standards with best practices, you get high quality, highly compatible, long lived solutions.
